Who We Are

Do you remember the days of country churches that served the neighbors? The congregation was a family in and of itself? Meeting both spiritual and physical needs was the whole purpose? Even if you don’t remember those days, is that what you are looking for? Then you should visit Grandview Alliance Church. We are a small, close-knit congregation. Caring for each other is what we do.

Our Mission

Our mission is to know Jesus Christ and exalt Him as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer and Coming King and to fulfill the Great Commission through evangelizing and discipling the lost throughout the Erie area, incorporating them into a Christ-centered, Bible believing, Bible teaching congregation and support missions around the world.

Our Statement of Faith

There is one God,(1) who is infinitely perfect,(2) existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.(3)

Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man.(4) He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.(5) He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust,(6) as a substitutionary sacrifice,(7) and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.(8) He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures.(9) He is now at the right hand of Majesty on high as our great High Priest.(10) He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness and peace.(11)

The Holy Spirit is a divine person,(12) sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer,(13) and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.(14)

The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.(15)

Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God:(16) he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature,(17) are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.(18) The portion of the impenitent and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment;(19) and that of the believer, in everlasting joy and bliss.(20)

Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God.(21)

It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly,(22) being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service.(23) This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion.(24)

Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body.(25) Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the Church in this present age.(26)

The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, (27) which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations.(28) The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.(29)

There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life;(30) for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.(31)

The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent(32) and will be personal, visible, and premillennial.(33) This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service.(34)

What is the Christian and Missionary Alliance

The Christian and Missionary Alliance is an alliance of evangelical believers, joined together in local churches, committed to fulfilling the Great Commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:19 and 20 instruct us, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you” (NIV).

We are Christian because we believe and follow Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. We are missionary because we are committed to reach lost people with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission statement reads, “The Christian and Missionary Alliance is committed to world missions stressing the fullness of Christ and preaching the gospel to the end of the earth.”

Since our beginning in 1887 the Alliance has grown to 2,100 churches in the United States and Canada. We have ministries in 54 countries around the world.

What do Alliance people believe?

The Alliance emphasizes the need for genuine spiritual conversion to Christ, a spirit-filled life and effective service.

The doctrinal statement of The Christian and Missionary Alliance was adopted in 1965. It has been reaffirmed in succeeding years and stands as an understandable statement of evangelical belief. We teach the centrality of Christ expressed as “Jesus Christ our Savior, Sanctifier, Healer and Coming King.”

Grandview Alliance Church Social Statement?

As followers of Christ, our beliefs, doctrines and standards of living are based upon the Bible, the inspired and inerrant Word of God.

We recognize that we are living in a culture that is becoming increasingly secular, yet we hold fast to the truths of the Bible as guidelines for Christian living and reject the philosophy and worldview of secular humanism.

We believe that the Bible affirms the sanctity of marriage which is defined as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman, and would exclude any form of same-sex marriage or sexual relationship. In accordance with our denominational standards, neither our church facility nor pastoral leadership may be involved in any way with a same-sex marriage or covenant ceremony.

We believe that God created and designed the sexual experience between a husband and wife to be the ultimate expression of love and intimacy, and any form of sexual impurity, such as pre or extra marital sexual relations, including adultery are considered sinful behavior as described in Biblical teaching.

also believe that so-called trans-genderism is not a valid identity, as we are specially created by God as male or female, and our genetic structure permanently and specifically identifies us as such.

We believe that life begins at conception, and that elective abortion is the killing of an unborn child. However, we recognize that many women have suffered post-abortion remorse and that there is healing and redemption available through God’s mercy and grace. We also affirm the value of life, and that euthanasia is contrary to Biblical standards. Since human life is a sacred gift from God, the termination of life by euthanasia, suicide, or assisted suicide is morally and biblically unacceptable.

We believe in and affirm God’s grace and love, and recognize that everyone has sinned and fallen short of His glory, as He proclaims in Romans 3:23. All sin separates us from God, but through His grace we are saved by faith, and that is not of ourselves or our goodness, but by His grace alone through the sacrificial death of His Son, Jesus. There is no other name by which we can be saved.

We are called as a people of faith to be a light of His love in this world of darkness, and to be a reflection of Himself. As such, we would welcome into our worship experience any who would desire to join us, regardless of race, ethnic background or lifestyle choice.

Church membership is open to those who have confessed and repented of sin, sought and received the forgiveness of God through faith in Jesus Christ, and covenant to live according to the teachings of His Word as faithful disciples.
